He definitely looks like he’s crossed over to the dark side.

Yeah he led cops on a chase and crashed into a fence. Not sure what the deal is. I guess its better than dying of an overdose at the Viper Room.

He must have had a strange experience, one movie wonder and fans do not like him, I mean the whole prequel thing and jarjar is a fucking mess. If he was really loved and those movies had been great, who knows.

I would have loved to be the young Anakin skywalker. Yeah, you’re career is over once the movies are done, but after that you’d never have to work again. Dude is worth $3.9M.

Is that one of those nice young men on vacation from the prison in New York?

Only $3.9M? Today that isn’t a whole hell of a lot, but if you invested half long term and even just living off the interest of half I guess you could live a comfortable life if you didn’t get crazy. I mean where I am in SF you can’t buy a halfway decent place for less than $450k.

In fairness, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fischer apparently had their own crazy periods. Maybe all the green-screening messed with his young brain?

SF is a densely packed city. Of course houses and land there are going to be in limited quantity and outrageously expensive, but there’s no reason to limit your horizons like that when you are a multimillionaire with no need for a centralized source of income.

If you check out zillow and expand your search, the $400k-$500k housing market there reads like a list of mansions, some of which haven’t even been built yet. It’s the same story around where I live, where you can get a two story 6 bedroom McMansion and multicar garage for just under $400k.

There are sums of money in the world far greater than $3.9M, but lolno, a multimillionaire is not comparable to a poor person because of that. To put that sum in perspective, you could buy the McMansion I mentioned before, a brand new Ford GT ($1M Even total), and spend as much on yourself every month that a family of four would and still have enough to be on vacation until you are dead. Or invest half your remaining money and get what you spent on your McMansion back every year, assuming a growing and health economy. It’s not as much as what someone like the head of a movie studio or an A-list level movie star would regularly pull in ever year, but don’t pretend like this guy isn’t pretty much set for life, because he is.

Freedom is never having to touch the principle. 4M at 5% is 200k a year forever. On the one hand it’s nice, on the other hand it sucks you have to have that much money socked away just to yield 200 (150 after taxes). Of course, it’s more than if you were making 200k and had to save for the future, so you can live very comfortably but not like a movie star.

The more you have, the more conservative your investments, so with 4M you’re not swinging for the fences but looking for a safe 5% return. That’s 200k forever without touching the principle, 150 after taxes, but more than a 150/200k income because you can spend it all.

Move to a free state and 450k will get you a giant place with a pool and a view, with a 4k tax bill instead of 10k. Life’s very good, just not movie star extravagant.
